Paul Chasman will play original songs about life, love, dogs, cats, Muhammad Ali, and who knows what else for an exciting, eclectic evening at the Yachats Commons at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
Many people know Chasman as a guitarist. A former resident of Waldport, he has played with the Acoustic Guitar Summit and also performed solo concerts. Fans of guitar music have long admired his virtuosity in many musical genres. In 2011, following the release of his CD celebrating 50 years of guitar playing, “One Man Guitar Festival,” he needed to have surgery on his left hand (because of 50 years of guitar playing). While recovering from surgery and barely able to hold a “G” chord, Chasman wrote a song. Then he wrote another. Then he couldn’t stop.
