The Yaquina Pacific Railroad Historical Society in Toledo will host several activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday.
In conjunction with National Train Day, and the Toledo Quilt Quest, the day will include tours to the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill, the dedication of the Railway Post Office baggage car mural, train music by the Rusty Rovers, and food being served from the Loose Caboose Café.
Two walking tours of the paper mill, for people 12 years and older, will be at 10:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., held with assembly at the railroad Heritage Square. Each walking tour lasts about one hour, is fairly vigorous and requires stair climbing. Participants are asked to wear no open toe shoes and fill out a safety form at the railroad prior to going to the mill. For the complete article see the 05-10-2013 issue.
