Cross' game-winner, Boomer defense beat Crusaders

Jackson Cross knew the bender was coming.

With Jonathan Cyphert standing on second base, one out and the score stalemated at 4-4 in the eighth inning against Salem Academy, the Boomer shortstop was thinking curveball all the way.

Lo and behold after seeing three straight curves, Cross got a fourth one off the plate. This time, he clipped a flare to right field that dropped at the feet of the Crusader right fielder and bounced square on the chalk along the first base line.
