Crabbing for dollars: Catching a tagged crab results in cash prize

Modified: Thursday, Apr 18th, 2013

A fisherman displays a Dungeness crab bearing a green tag from the Oregon Collaborative Research to Assess Bycatch (C.R.A.B.) Project. Found primarily on female and undersize male crabs, the tag should be yanked out before returning the crab to the water and returned to the OSU Extension Service office in Newport for a $20 bounty and a chance to win up to $1,000.
