New surfman pinned in Depoe Bay

DEPOE BAY — The elite backbone of the U.S. Coast Guard opened its guarded ranks to a new member last week when a young boatswain’s mate was elevated to the status of surfman during a dockside ceremony at the three-boat station located here.
