Just like raindrops, talented Oregon Coast Community College students are showing up in buckets for the first OCCC student talent show — with auditions extended to Monday, April 15 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the music room at the Central County Campus, 400 SE College Way in South Beach.

Talent for the show so far includes a couple of singers, a rock guitarist, a band, a belly dancer, a hula hoop dancer, a flute player, a pianist and a classical guitarist, plus a couple of students who will read poems from the soon to be published OCCC literacy journal, Waves.

The April Shower’s Student Talent and Art Show is a benefit for student success programs at OCCC, including art scholarships. Wilder, the development that made building the OCCC campus possible, is the sponsor of the event. The Wilder community was created, according to the developers, “to strike a balance between human society and nature.”
