Small towns ‘on their own’ after disaster

NEWPORT — Emergency managers warn that small coastal cities and rural neighborhoods of Lincoln County will be cut off from emergency assistance for days and possibly weeks in the aftermath of a “Cascadia event,” buzzwords for a 9.0-scale or greater earthquake and ensuing tsunami.
