A bulldozer being used to move material on the “hog fuel” pile at the Georgia-Pacific Pulp and Paper Mill in Toledo caught fire Thursday, March 14. Toledo Fire & Rescue was called to the scene shortly before noon and quickly extinguished the flames. It is believed that wood chips from the pile had gotten pushed up near the engine and were ignited by its heat. The bulldozer sustained extensive damage, but there was no threat of the fire spreading, a Toledo fire official said.
