Phagans’ fashion show benefits My Sisters’ Place

The lights were dim, the fog was thick and the “Creatures of the Night” were about, but it was for a good cause.

“Creatures of the Night” was the theme of a fashion show hosted by Phagans’ Newport Academy of Cosmetology Careers on Friday, March 8, as a fundraiser for My Sisters’ Place, a local domestic abuse prevention program.

More than 70 people attended the event, which gave cosmetology students a chance to show off their talents. Friends, family and local high school students volunteered to model hairstyles and makeup that ranged from tigers and peacocks to various plants and even a “lady of the lake.”
