Bridge Walk for Peace

In celebration of the 102nd anniversary of International Women’s Day, a Bridge Walk for Peace was held at noon Friday, with a group of people making the trek across the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport, waving posters and banners. Last year, more than 75,000 women and men in 70 countries joined together to make a statement in support of peace. The local event was co-sponsored by the Interfaith Community for Peace and Justice and Central Oregon Coast Chapter of National Organization for Women.
