Newport Youth Swimming Team brings back state medals

The Newport Youth Swimming Team sent seven competitors to the Oregon State 10-and-under State Championships in Springfield on Feb. 16-17 and came away with a boatload of medals and fast finishes. The Newport Youth Swimming Team sent seven competitors to the Oregon State 10-and-under State Championships in Springfield on Feb. 16-17. This meet was the culmination of the short course swim season, with swimmers working all season to earn qualifying times. In addition to their

usual practices, the state swimmers swam an extra three hours a week with Head Coach Chris Lamma to prepare.
