Standout thrower Hargett commits to Cornell University

Six of the eight Ivy League schools called.

So did the University of Oregon, University of Kansas, Stanford University and the service academies.

Newport superstar track and field athlete Kacie Hargett had a phonebook-thick pile of recruiting letters from countless Division One schools vying for her talents, not only as a standout javelin thrower, but for her superb, nearly-flawless academic transcript, as well
