Newport pool still leaking

The Newport Pool stands nearly empty Thursday afternoon. Hopes to reopen this weekend went down the drain when it began leaking again on Wednesday. Public works crews plan to use a remote camera to scan the pipe system for leaks today (Friday). A control system failure opened a valve and drained the pool on Feb. 15. NEWPORT — The Newport Municipal Swimming Pool will remain closed for several more days after hopes to reopen this weekend were dashed when it began leaking again.
