Vessel owner sues Port of Newport

The 42-foot Pacific Mist is undergoing repairs at the Port of Toledo boatyard. The owner, Dennis Bishop, has filed a lawsuit against the Port of Newport and another boat owner, claiming they caused extensive damage to the Pacific Mist’s twin 225 horsepower outboard motors when they moved it without his permission last August. NEWPORT – The owner of a commercial crabbing boat filed a lawsuit in Lincoln County Circuit Court on Jan. 28 against the Port of Newport and another boat owner.
