Library report card shines

Posted: Thursday, Feb 14th, 2013

(By Rick Beasley)

Driftwood Public Library Director Kirsten Brodbeck-Kenney delivered an uplifting report on the status of Lincoln City’s library Monday when she told city councilors that the facility meets or exceeds state standards on all levels. A report card issued by a state association found a “first-class” operation that carries 68,529 items and is buoyed by more than 6,000 hours of volunteer efforts. High marks were earned on the technology side for providing a bank of personal computers and laptops, as well as training for patrons in their use. “This report card speaks to the support of the community and the continued commitment of the city to education,” Kenney concluded.
