America Inn and Suites Waldport sold

There are no cars in the parking lot; the electric sign reads “No vacancy”. If that isn’t enough to make the situation obvious, a sign in the window reads, “Sorry, we are closed.”

Three weeks ago, America Inn and Suites in Waldport was sold to Texas-based Triumph Savings Bank following foreclosure proceedings last November and December.

As of Dec. 17, 2012, the amount of the judgment against former owner Richard Daines was $543,645.95, with interest of 13 percent per year accruing, according to a writ of execution in foreclosure filed in Lincoln County Circuit Court.
