The Newport Public Library will discuss Jane Austen’s novel, “Emma,” at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 12, and will screen the 1996 version of the movie, “Emma,” at 6:30 p.m. the same day.
Gwyneth Paltrow sparkles in the title role as Miss Woodhouse, a rich 21-year-old who lives with her widowed father in a mansion. Determined to never marry herself, she nonetheless delights in playing Cupid among her circle of friends.
