Judge denies acquittal motion Thursday during Acosta trial

Lincoln County Circuit Court Judge Thomas O. Branford denied on Thursday a defense motion of acquittal of five of the six counts of sex-related charges facing defendant Thomas Acosta, who is on trial for crimes that allegedly occurred against county resident April Loper on Dec. 15, 2011.
