They may have been the only 14 people in the entire building who believed they were good enough to take down No. 1 Regis in their own gym, in venomous territory, with unfavorable officials, but that's all the Waldport boys basketball team needed on Friday.
Vying for high regard in a league that's generally treated them like the red-headed stepchild, the Irish jolted not only the Tri-River Conference, but the undivided 2A landscape by ousting the top-ranked Rams 62-53.
