Crab float and gear cleanup event at Yaquina Head seeks volunteers

Volunteers are invited to join the Newport Chapter of Surfrider Foundation, Bureau of Land Management and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, to help remove derelict crabbing gear from Cobble Beach at the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. The wreck of the Chevelle has scattered crab floats and rope about Yaquina Head.
