High-speed pursuit ends in crash on Highway 20, two are arrested

It wasn’t spike strips that stopped a driver that led police on a high-speed chase through Newport and east on Highway 20 Wednesday afternoon. Instead, it was the driver’s inability to control the Jeep Nitro SUV in a high-speed turn onto Pioneer Mountain Loop.
