Habitat for Humanity works on two Waldport townhouses

Construction crews have been hard at work on these new townhouses in Waldport. These are just two of the four townhouses that Habitat for Humanity plans to build in the area of Ray's Market. Qualified families purchase homes from Habitat on a no-interest, 30-year loan and are required to put 500 hours of sweat equity into their own homes or other Habitat projects. Cathy Bright never expected to be a homeowner, but the Waldport resident smiles as she talks about her experience with Habitat for Humanity and the knowledge that soon, she and her daughter will have a townhouse to call their own.

Bright's employer suggested she apply to the nonprofit organization when posters showed up in their office advertising the opportunity for county residents.
