Frederick Albee Fisher II
Frederick Albee Fisher II, 55, of South Beach, Ore., died suddenly from a stroke, after a brave long ongoing battle with cancer on Jan. 7, 2013.

He was born Aug. 29, 1957 to R. Barry Fisher and Carol L. Smith Fisher.

He attended school in Newport and subsequently trained at Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Ore. and graduated as a chef. He self-trained to repair auto interiors as an independent contractor. During his life he worked as a chef, fisherman, auto interior repairman, logger and raconteur. As a representative of the Western Culinary Institute, his team traveled to and completed in Germany.

Fred found great joy in the woods and loved to take his truck, Greeny Girl, into the mud and help others get unstuck. He also loved sport fishing, beachcombing, rock hounding, and rowing in bays and rivers in his special red canoe.

He loved studying collectibles and antiques and spent many hours seeking treasures in unexpected places (Antique Road Show was one of his TV favorites). Reading and music were sources of great pleasure; he loved blues and rock. Over his lifetime he had many dogs and cats whom he loved and cared for with passion.

Fredís greatest joy in life, though, was spending time developing friendships and visiting with, encouraging, and enjoying his friends from all walks of life.

Fredís travels with family and friends took him to Cabo San Lucas where he fished for dorado, whale watched, drank tequila and enjoyed Mexican food.

He prayed for and wished the best for everyone.

He was preceded in death by his father, R. Barry Fisher.

He is survived by his fiancť Lisa Gisek; mother Carol Fisher; brother Chris (Cathy) Fisher; nephews, Kyle and Cameron; and niece Kassidee.

He chose to donate his body to Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Ore. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Bay 839, located at 839 SW Bay Blvd. on the Bayfront in Newport.
