Mankind has been adorning itself with beads made of stone, bone, shells, glass and other materials since the dawn of time, and beads have been found in burial sites the world over.
Traders on every continent counted beads as an extremely important staple in their inventory. Because of the vast extent of the ir travels, it is often difficult to know where a particular stoneoriginated.
