Betty Stier and Sandra Wadsley are in charge of decorations for the Helping Hands Tea on Jan. 26 to benefit Samaritan House homeless family shelter. The event is set for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 227 NE 12th St. in Newport. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at Samaritan House, TLC Credit Union, or at the door if tickets remain. Samaritan House helps Lincoln County homeless families reach independence through education and coaching in life skills from getting a job, to managing daily life, to being a good renter.
