Program for caregivers starts Jan. 23

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide people with the tools they need to take care of themselves as they care for their loved one.

Classes consist of six sessions held once a week on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., beginning Jan. 23 and continuing through Feb. 27 at First Presbyterian Church, 227 NE 12th St. in Newport.

Experienced class leaders, Kath Schonau, RN, MSW and Debra Fant, RN, BSN, will conduct the series (many are experienced caregivers themselves, who have successfully applied the techniques they teach).
