Afternoon tea to benefit Samaritan House Jan. 26

Tickets for an afternoon tea are now being sold to benefit the nonprofit Samaritan House shelter for homeless families. The event, sponsored by TLC Federal Credit Union, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Newport Presbyterian Church.

Melodic jazz by the Bad Lee Bent Trio with Barbara LaPine, Robin Crum and Larry Blake will provide the entertainment. The tea will include six courses.
