Linda Anne McKinley
Linda Anne McKinley, 65, of Newport, Ore., died Dec. 15, 2012.

She was born April 24, 1947 to William Andrew McKinley and Doris Ruth Houser in Sheridan, Ore. Linda was raised in Sheridan and later moved to Salem, Ore., where she graduated from high school.

She relocated to New Orleans, La. and attended nursing school and graduated in 1993 from Louisiana State University with a bachelorís degree in nursing.

After 10 years of practicing nursing in New Orleans, she moved to San Francisco, where she spent seven years as an ICU and ER nurse at St. Lukeís Hospital.

Linda retired in 2010 and moved back to the Oregon coast to be near her family.

She had a full and colorful life, filled with friends and family, travel, her pug dogs, gardening and tending to her hummingbird feeder. She loved movies and music, especially New Orleans jazz. She was a big New Orleans Saints football fan.

While in San Francisco, she and her husband, Steve, were able to attend musicals, theater plays and many San Francisco Giants baseball games.

In retirement, Linda was reunited with All Nations Lutheran Church in Newport, Ore. where she taught Sunday school 40 years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Duck of Newport; children, Clary (Jerome) Grant of Depoe Bay and Maritine Willis of Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Hannah Grant of Depoe Bay, Johnny Baxley of Pennsylvania, and Jace and Demi Willis of Alabama.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at All Nations Lutheran Church, 358 NE 12th St. in Newport.
