The Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International announces that a new Kiwanis Club will form in Newport. The Kiwanis objective is to enhance communities with a major emphasis on projects oriented toward providing service to and opportunities for youth.
Plans are underway to recruit men and women for charter membership in the new club, and an informational meeting is set for 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at St. Stephen Episcopal Church, at SW Ninth and Hubert streets in Newport.
