Volunteers shred Christmas trees to help the needy

Central Lincoln PUD volunteers will be turning Christmas trees into mulch in Newport this Saturday for donations for Community Services Consortiumís heating assistance program for those in need.†† Christmas trees will be shredded in seconds in a high-speed tree chipper, much to the enjoyment of any children who come to watch.† The mulch created is given to local gardeners.††
