The Friends of Driftwood Public Library will present the literary series Oregon Legacy to the community at 3 p.m. on four Sunday afternoons in January 2013.
The series opens on Jan. 6 when novelist Keith Scribner visits the library to read from and discuss his work. Scribner’s third novel, “The Oregon Experiment,” was released in June 2011. His two previous novels are “The Good Life” and “Miracle Girl.”
“The Good Life” was selected for the Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers series and was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. His fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Daily Beast, TriQuarterly, American Short Fiction, Quarterly West, The North Atlantic Review, the San Jose Mercury News, the Baltimore Sun, and the anthologies Flash Fiction Forward and Sudden Stories: The MAMMOTH Book of Miniscule Fiction. He received both Pushcart and O’Henry Prize Honorable Mentions for his short story, “Paradise in a Cup.” For the complete article see the 01-02-2013 issue.
