Community Christmas dinner set in Newport

A free community dinner will once again be offered in Newport on Christmas Day. The dinner takes place at the Elks Lodge (45 John Moore Drive, Newport) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and meals can also be delivered in the Newport and South Beach areas. (File photo)

A free community dinner will once again be offered on Christmas Day in Newport.

The event, which takes place at the Newport Elks Lodge, is offered to anyone who wants to gather with others for a traditional holiday feast.

There are those who, for whatever reason, will find themselves alone this year. And there are also those who won't have the financial means to prepare a nice Christmas dinner. That's why the Newport Elks Lodge and the Newport Church of the Nazarene are once again teaming up to provide this Christmas Day dinner.
