Log truck opponents rally at city council

NEWPORT — Opponents of a $30-million plan to truck logs through a residential neighborhood earned a promise from the Newport City Council Monday to address their fears over safety, pollution and the loss of their idyllic lifestyle next to Yaquina Bay.
