Scientific panel nixes idea of eliminating chinook harvest to benefit orcas

In what is sure to be a relief to commercial and sport fishermen, an independent scientific panel has concluded that a proposal to completely eliminate the harvest of chinook salmon would likely have a minimal effect on southern resident killer whale population growth.
