Christopher Thomas Ivany, 42, of Palm Springs, Calif., died of natural causes on Nov. 12, 2012 in Palm Springs.

He was born Aug. 18, 1970 to Patricia Tinsley and John Ivany in Corvallis, Ore. He went to school in Newport, Ore., and in 1988, he graduated from Newport High School. He continued his education at Lane Community College in Eugene.

Chris spent many years living in Portland, Ore. He was able to fulfill a lifetime dream of owning his own business, Momo’s, in downtown Portland. He spent his last four years in Palm Springs, soaking up the sun. Palm Springs was the place all his friends came to visit and always had a good time.

He enjoyed reading, watching old shows and movies, listening to music, dancing, being with his mother, and he enjoyed lots of laughs with his best friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Maxine Tinsley; and Grandma Lucy and Grandpa Ivany.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Tinsley, of Palm Springs; father, John (Alice) Ivany of Eddyville; brother, Daniel (Vance) Ivany; and Tracy (Dan) Graham.

A celebration of life and potluck will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Newport Elks, at 45 SE Moore Road. Please bring a favorite dish. For more information, call Taunette Dixon at 541-961-3385 or Mindi Taylor at 541-272-2064.
