Former county commissioner honored for service to community

NEWPORT – A former Lincoln County commissioner who championed mass transit and led Oregon’s Commission for the Blind entered a nursing home last week surrounded by friends, neighbors and the man who beat him in a free-for-all primary race 22 years ago.
