‘The Producers’ takes the stage this weekend

“It’s Opening Night...” which is the song that kicks off the beginning of Porthole Players production of Mel Brooks’ “The Producers.”

The show runs four consecutive weekends from today (Friday) through Dec. 9. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Center.

The cast leads are Eric Furuheim as Max Bialystock, Justin Atkins as Leo Bloom, Megan Walters as Ulla, Pete Theodore as Roger Debris, Josh Lawrence as Carmen Ghia, Stephen as Franz Liebkind, and an ensemble cast of 29 other actors, dancers and singers who perform as multiple characters throughout the production.
