Opera broadcast features ‘Otello’

The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts presents “Otello,” by Verdi, via high definition satellite broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera in New York, at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Newport Performing Arts Center. Johan Botha is in the title role, and Renée Fleming appears as Desdemona. Tickets are available at the PAC box office at 777 W. Olive St. or by calling 541-265-2787, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Reserved seat tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and $10 for students.
