Before his senior year began, Waldport High student Tyler Balfour had already earned a certification that will help him to achieve his professional dreams.
Balfour wants to open his own bike shop in the future, and his experiences with the Green Bike program in Waldport over the past three years have only solidified his plans. In August, Balfour and Rick Hill, supervisor of the Green Bike program, spent two weeks in Portland taking classes and completing exams to earn their Certified Bicycle Technician credential from United Bicycle Institute.
