Siletz school honors veterans

Students bearing a U.S. flag made in class and boxes of cookies and thank you cards met veterans gathered for a ceremony Thursday at Siletz Valley School. The tired eyes of an old veteran lit up and went moist as a young girl handed him a poem of tribute meticulously enhanced by crayon art, one of the many simple, heartfelt gifts that honored former service members during a ceremony Thursday at Siletz Valley School.
