Partnership plans controlled burn at Big Creek Preserve

Burn will benefit rare butterfly

The Nature Conservancy and partners have scheduled a controlled burn on grasslands at Big Creek Preserve near Yachats in the next few weeks. A team of fire professionals, including Siuslaw National Forest personnel, with many decades of controlled burn experience are planning to burn five acres as weather conditions permit.
