New exhibit at Canyon Way features two artists

Canyon Way Bookstore and Restaurant is hosting an art exhibit of works by Cynthia Jacobi and Anita Sue Andrews through Oct. 21.

Jacobi works in mixed media. Her paintings may be multi-layered paints, collage and wax. She is eager to use new techniques and combinations that give her creations a lively, immediate feeling. Her colors are warm, deep earthy reds and yellow ochre. Animals, fish and nature mingle on the surfaces of her work. When talking about her art, Jacobi says salmon and crows are among her favorite icons. She currently is showing more of her paintings at For Artsake Gallery in the Nye Beach area of Newport.
