The Newport Farmers’ Market wants to invite new low-income shoppers to its bustling market.
In Lincoln County, nearly 10,000 people rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP formerly food stamps) each month to feed themselves and their families. Thirty-three percent of children are on SNAP, far outpacing the national average.
