Bad trip sends Newport man over cliff

Newport police officers were dispatched to the Shilo Inn on a report of a male subject discovered trespassing on the property at 8:32 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10. Information indicated that a maintenance supervisor had discovered the man inside a locked storage closet. Upon being discovered , the man fled and jumped over the fence towards the ocean.
