Red Octopus Theatre, bringing local theatrical talent together for more than 30 years, will present “The Seafarer,” Conor McPherson’s award-winning 2007 play, at the Newport Performing Arts Center. The play was inspired by the ancient poem, “The Seafarer,” which symbolizes the solitary man’s journey into the vast alone. As in the poem, the characters in the play seek meaning through life’s unexpected paths in the uncertain world.
