Ex-mayor vetoes bag ban motion

NEWPORT – Citing meeting rules and questions over committee membership, former mayor Mark Jones derailed a motion to eliminate plastic shopping bags here during a Thursday, Sept. 27 meeting of the Plastic Bag Community Task Force.
