Sea to sea to stop child abuse

Above, Buster DeWitt, 75, and his standard poodle, Maggie, set off from Newport’s Nye Beach early Thursday morning on the first day of a 2,944 mile walk across America to raise funds to help prevent child abuse. Buster plans to walk 35 miles a day to reach Newport News, Va. by Nov. 12. Below, Buster DeWitt heads down Coast Street in Newport. His wife, LaVerna, will pick him up every night and return him to the same spot to continue walking the next morning. Man begins cross-country walk on 75th birthday

A man reaches the fall of his time on earth and expects to have something to show for it. Looking back at his life, Buster DeWitt saw four marriages, a bankruptcy and regrets over how he raised his children.
