The following individuals were convicted of felony offenses in Lincoln County Circuit Court. Any associated charges filed in conjunction with those felony charges are listed as well. This list also includes persons convicted of any assault charges, whether felony or misdemeanor.
• Derek Mitchell Nelson, 22, of Newport, was convicted March 22 on a charge of Assault IV. He was sentenced to 36 months probation and $985 in fines and fees. Charges of strangulation, harassment and contempt of court (two counts) were dismissed. His attorney was Richard Scholl.
• Kenneth William Prowett, 42, of Toledo, was convicted March 21 on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail, 18 months probation and $1,280 in fines and fees. His driver’s license was suspended for six months. His attorney was Guy Greco.
