Preparedness for a tsunami

Nearly 16 months have passed since Japan experienced the results of a powerful earthquake just off their coast. We’ve seen the frightening images of the devastation caused by the tsunami resulting in the loss of life and extensive property damage. Thousands of visitors have flocked to the beach in Newport recently to see the dock that drifted here following that event. It is a visible testament to the damage caused by a tsunami.
