This first aid may be worst aid
Recently, I took a first aid course so that I might learn to help my students if they were to ever find themselves in medical need.
I am opposed to this.
As a teacher, I have always believed the axiom that if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach him to fish you ensure he smells terrible and recites boring stories for a lifetime. By just mindlessly applying a tourniquet to a student’s neck, instead of letting him do it himself, he’s really not learning anything.
